Answering for a Friend

Q: I’m hosting a dinner and want to use place cards, but my table is tight on space—where should they go?

A: Most traditionally, a place card goes just above the place setting, centered, so it’s easy to see as guests take their seats. If space is limited, placing it directly in the center of the place setting works just as well. If it’s an event where each guest will have a menu, you can also put names at the top of the menu cards to save space.

In Case You Missed It

Earlier this week, I wrote about how to give a maid of honor speech that doesn’t sound like everyone else’s.

I was on the James Wilson Institute’s Anchoring Truths Podcast. You can watch the full episode on YouTube here, and you can get caught up on my Ask Alison column in Evie Magazine here.
